"A picture is worth a thousand words," according to the old adage.
I was recently asked what three things I would grab from my home if it caught fire. Without hesitation I replied that it would be the picture of my five children that my son gave me last year for Christmas. After that, I drew a blank.
When you walk through a long-term care community and look at the rooms of each of the residents, you will see that very little of material possession remains in their lives except for the most part, pictures.
Furthermore, it's the use of pictures during many of our life enrichment activities, that have proved to be effective for every seeing individual, no matter the level of functioning.
This Christmas I have invested quite a bit of time and energy organizing pictures and creating collages for my family. Below is a collection of a few of my family favorites.
