Loaning out commodes is probably not on the list of top ten most desirable career tracks we pitch to our kids who are trying to sort out who they are and what their place is in this world.
But somebody’s gotta do it. And it’s one of those services you overlook if you’re not in a position to need it. And it just so happens it’s a service my husband needed during the immediate recovery process of his recent knee replacement surgery. And we were blessed to be able to avail ourselves through our local Resource Center in Osage City.

“I cleaned it up with bleach water,” I announced to the staff person who was sorting through a pile of contracts looking for mine after returning it to his office.
“Thanks,” he replied, looking my direction.
“You’re welcome.”
“Seriously. I mean, not many people think to do that. So thanks.”
Once again, it’s those little things that mean a lot.
