Give Me Your Hand

by Kareen King on April 5, 2010

I’ve always been a nostalgic person, keeping every diary, letter, and memento of personal interest since youth. There has always been an intuitive notion that one day these treasures would be put to use, if nothing else, to pass on to my children.

Little did I know until yesterday, while digging through old artifacts, that I had stored my notes to a speech I entered as a 14-year-old. There’s no arguing that an interest in contributing to the lives of institutionalized elders has run through my veins for decades. The title of my speech is, “Give Me Your Hand.”
