The Cherry on Top

by Kareen King on March 2, 2010

The older I get, the more some things in my life feel a chore rather than an opportunity. Such as cooking. As a young wife and mother, I loved creating home-cooked meals and homemade desserts. But after creating thousands of meals over the years, the motivation to be creative just sort of dwindles.

That’s why it’s important to be reminded every now and then of what’s possible in the realm of creativity. Because, life isn’t fun anymore when we resort to maintaining just the basics.
Sometimes, we need to remember to put the cherry on top. It just makes life a little prettier.

Note: This picture was taken while at a Whole Foods Market in White Plains, NY. It became the favorite eating spot during the NADT conference I attended. It reminds me of the efforts that are being taken, in the name of Culture Change and Person-Centered care, to provide residents with more aesthetically pleasing choices when it comes to desserts.
STRESSED SPELLED BACKWARDS IS DESSERTS!
