Esther is a 76-year-old RN who has been working at Brookside Retirement Community for years. She is an absolute jewel to work with. She gave me permission to share her picture with Emilou and to quote her on this blog, although she claims she always takes a “terrible picture.” I beg to differ. By the way, she took great care of the real Emilou who was a resident at Brookside.
When I asked her about why she continues to work, even though she doesn’t have to, her reply was immediate.
“It keeps me motivated. It keeps my mind active. I love my job. I don’t even think about being old.”
